Key implementation date - 31 January 2023
UK import declarations must be submitted in advance and communicated via the Goods Vehicle Movement System (GVMS). Freight carriers transporting goods via UK ports that operate with the GVMS are required to sign up for this service. This registration aids in the seamless processing of goods through customs.
Docs Required
Export health certificates and phytosanitary certificates are introduced for medium risk animal products and plant and plant products imported to GB from the EU including IE.
Customs Process
Full customs controls, including the requirement to pre-lodge import declarations, will be introduced for goods imported to GB from the EU including IE.
